We built Same Sermon because the church has always been meant for every nation, tribe, people and language. And because too many neighbors sit through a sermon they can’t understand.
From Babel to Pentecost
Near the beginning of the Bible, at Babel, languages scatter people apart. At Pentecost, the story turns around. The Spirit comes, the apostles speak, and a crowd from every corner of the known world is bewildered, “because each one heard their own language being spoken.”

We are not so bold as to call software a Pentecost. But we do believe that the church should be a place where language brings people together rather than keeping them apart. Same Sermon is our small contribution to that: a way for everyone in the room to hear the same sermon, at the same time, beside one another.
Who it’s for
We built Same Sermon for ordinary churches. The small congregation with one volunteer at the sound desk. The immigrant church where the parents pray in Korean and the children answer in English. The Spanish-speaking church whose new members are from Brazil. The English-speaking church that sponsored a family from Afghanistan and wants them to feel at home on Sunday.
That’s why it’s simple to set up, why listeners never need an app, why there is a real free plan, and why you never pay per listener. Hospitality shouldn’t have a cover charge.
How we think about AI in worship
AI translation is a tool for hospitality. It is not a replacement for people.
It can’t greet someone at the door, sit with them after the service, or notice that they seem lonely. It can’t pray with them. It will sometimes get a word wrong. Your bilingual members, interpreters and multilingual leaders matter more than any software, and we hope Same Sermon frees them to do more of the things only people can do.
We try to be honest about what the technology can and can’t do. We would rather you trust us a little less and be pleasantly surprised than trust us too much and be let down on Easter morning.
How we work
- We keep it simple. A volunteer should be able to run it without training.
- We respect privacy. We don’t record sermons, and we don’t track listeners.
- We price it fairly. A real free plan, a simple paid plan, and no per-listener fees.
- We listen. Every email to hello@samesermon.com is read by a person.
